ArtCare organises regular creative workshops for staff at the hospital allowing them to ‘wind down’ after work. The Staff Arts Club workshops aim to relieve stress and combat isolation for those working alone. The sessions provide a ‘taster’ of different visual and performing arts, which staff may then decide to pursue in their own time. Previous activities have included pastels, stained glass, watercolour, life drawing, ceramics, photography, singing, creative writing and more.

Make your own Junk Journal with Tamsin Loveday
Cost £4
Monday 23rd June 6-8pm
Wessex Rehabilitation Centre
It is amazing how much paper comes into our homes each week that just gets put into the recycling bin! But you can use this free resource to make your very own notebooks and journals once you know a few simple bookbinding techniques.
If you like to keep a notebook with you for lists or poems, or if you keep a written or creative journal, why not experience the joy of using a book you have made for yourself?
This workshop is gently paced to allow plenty of time for everyone to be given the help they need. You will be guided through a step-by-step process to prepare your cover and collate your pages, sew the bundles of pages into the cover and create a closure. You will create a multi-section, pocket sized notebook bursting with character!
