Landlines
Matthew Dean brings over 25 years of artistic exploration to Landlines, a new exhibition inspired by the contours, rhythms and shifting energies of the landscape. Drawing on his deep connection to the Wiltshire countryside, Matthew translates the shapes of nature and memory into bold abstract forms, often inspired by an aerial perspective. His work moves between subtle, sensitive 2D compositions and dynamic textures, capturing both stillness and movement.
As the son of a farmer, Matthew’s practice is rooted in observation, absorbing the colours, textures and patterns of the land. Landlines invites viewers to consider identity and place through repetition, patience, and abstraction, offering moments of calm and reflection within the hospital’s corridors.
